James Huse II began making knives in 2002 and has been a featured guest on the History Channel’s “Forged In Fire”. What precipitated James into knife making is he would regularly buy different blades and then make new handles for them. Due to the relative newness of the internet still as a resource finding information on knife making was a challenge.   Initially James started with stock removal. By 2012 James was looking to expand his skillset and decided to pick up forging. While James Huse makes primarily fixed blade knives he is now adding folding knives to his skillset and is receiving some really great feedback.   The first knife James ever made was from a lawn mower blade and an antler. During this time James had virtually no equipment other than a grinder, sander and a few files. With a little hard work a knife was fashioned and James was hooked.   Then came sheath making using 6-8oz veggie-tan leather where each is hand stitched.  Got to have a sheath, so all James Huse’s fixed blades come with one that can additionally be customized with one’s name or initials.
