Glock

  Glock Ges.m.b.H. is headquartered in Deutsch-Wagram, Austria, named after its founder, Gaston Glock. Glock began as a manufacturer of curtain rods and knives for the Austrian military. He was already an expert in polymers as a result of his previous business ventures. In 1983 the first Glock 17 passed the Austrian Army’s stringent tests that included all three safeties. As a result the Austrian army ordered 25,000 Glock pistols and the Glock semi-auto handgun was born. Today Glock handguns are used by armed forces and law enforcement organizations worldwide, including a majority of law enforcement agencies in the United States.
